Nasolabial Folds

Nasolabial folds are caused by a loss of volume in the mid regions of the face, this causes our cheeks to sag down which in turn creates a fold. We treat this area in two ways, often by creating a lift in the cheekbone which ‘pulls’ the fold upward. We will often combine this with injecting filler directly into the nasolabial fold to smooth out the crease. We may use a combination of needles and cannula for the best results.

This treatment is suitable for all ages and anyone looking to lift the mid-region of the face or decrease the appearance of nasolabial folds.

We use a range of fillers at the clinic including Juvederm, Teoxane, Restylane and Revolax, your practitioner will discuss the benefits of each and which would be best for your treatment and desired effect.

The results will be visible after the treatment however it does take up to two weeks for the final result to show.

This area is not terribly sensitive, we use a good topical anaesthetic and our fillers all contain anaesthetic which will keep you comfortable during the treatment.

As with any injectable, there is a risk of swelling and some bruising (particularly the first 48 hours).

This treatment can last anywhere between 12 – 18 months, however, it does vary from person to person. Top-ups may be required before then and we are more than happy to advise you on this.

Before each treatment, an analysis will be carried out to determine the ageing characteristics of your face. During the treatment, measured injections of the filler will be placed into crucial areas to lift and support the nasolabial folds.

Topical numbing cream can be applied should you feel you need it. The hyaluronic acid filler that’s injected will immediately restore and rejuvenate the skin, helping the contours and volume to return as it once was. Treatment takes approximately 30 minutes.
